If you use Hotmail or you've used Microsoft Passport, Microsoft may have exposed you to a ton of spam. Some time in the last few months, Passport added the new information sharing options:
- Share my e-mail address
- Share my other registration information
When it created these options, Microsoft automatically checked these boxes for you if you already had a Hotmail/Passport.
To see if they are checked for you:
- Go to Hotmail.
- Log in.
- Click Options (to the right of the Address Book tab).
- Click Personal Profile (in the upper left corner).
- Look at the bottom for the new options.
If you don't want to share this information, uncheck the boxes and click the Update button.
