Camil translated the book's ray tracing programs into Visual Basic 2005, made some improvements, and came up with some images of remarkable beauty. These images are't as "organic" as some of the fractal images produced by others but their many internal and external reflections, translucency, and clarity are breathtaking. Follow this link to see more than 40 pictures that Camil generated.
The following list shows some examples. These are all fairly large images, taking a bit under 0.5 MB each.

Mike altered the fractal programs from Visual Basic Graphics Programming to produce images with elegantly subtle colors and amazing complexity.

One of Steve's interests is Celtic knots. Steve modified some of the programs in Visual Basic Graphics
Programming to display some remarkable Celtic knots in three-dimensions.

Steve's programs can generate images, POVRay output, and VRML 1 output. Download his popular
free
knot programs including a screen saver and find links to other Celtic knot sites at
Steve's Web page.
Jon has taken the output produced by Steve's Celtic knot programs and
used them in other graphics packages to produce some spectacular images.
